Dream family team: Adventures of almost austrian dwarf

There are some true treasures among areas that were missed top-10 and even top-100 in their country. Especially if it situated in such rock reach location as mountain valley near crossborder of Austria, Italy and Slovenia. Kanzianiberg is one of them.

We were going and going and at last came to green glade where set a tent and settled in it. Perfect place! Waking up you are on the street already. The nice one wit flowers, slides, toys and my 7 brothers, and… I thought there would be Snow White.

Mam: We stayed at camping Gerli with ponds, cafe, little shop and facilities. It costs 5 euro per person in June. Hot water costs 50 euro cents for 5 minutes.

Camping with a kid takes some stuffs.

Only numbers are interesting for adults. It was just so beautiful place. And then we went to sink our teeth into stones.

Not only are there crimps

Numbers: Kanzianiberg rock area with more than 500 routes graded from 4 to 8c is located 13 km away from camping. Approach takes 5 minutes from parking spot. There are source of drinking water and toilets. It’s suited for climbing in summer mostly.

There was so many steps to climb so I climbed on mama. But she climbed away from me too. And so did dad, while I was playing in:

running away,

helmet-knocking-by-the-rocks,

stones-taking-away-from-mouth.

It's possible to climb when it's raining.

Climbs: Not only are there many technical routes but also big overhanging. Area is still on bolting. In our guidebook (2016) were many routes with double grade. We used site The Crag to have more clear information. You wouldn’t pass through the crowd to get to the rocks there. There are via ferrata and parallel railings for even more adventures.

Accept rocks we were riding along nice streets, swinging with mam, playing with iron fish, walking along the blue river, sipping coffee from mam’s cap (at least I were doing my best), eating tasty crumbs, and even chocolate packaging - all things ordinary austrian dwarfs do.

And we found fishes and turtles but they didn’t allow me to catch them!

Rest days: There are several mounting lakes near Kanzianiberg. Not any place can you come to water because of the closed camping areas. Also there are two castles, mountains and roads with the view, aquapark with thermal sources. All these in addition to very nice and cosy town Villach.
